Today I used a Bee Bot. I have never before used this product and, after using it I can now understand how useful this could be for introducing coding in KS1. They are programmable floor robots which can help teach children logical reasoning. In order to gain knowledge on the Bee Bot, I created my own obstacle course and programmed the Bee Bot to get around the course. On reflection, I would definitely use the Bee Bot in my classroom and in my FPP placement in KS1. BeeBot is a fun and easy way to help teach children programming and algorithms (as specified in the primary curriculum.) These can be used in EYFS or further up the school and for children with learning difficulties. BeeBots could also be helpful in other areas of the curriculum, e.g. mathematics (position and direction.)

This week I was able to observe skype being used during a science lesson. We were able to watch a lesson in Cornwall from the comfort of our seats in Manchester. This helped to show how useful skype can be within the teaching profession to contact others and it gave us the opportunity to watch a lesson we otherwise would not have seen.
